Rescue Operation Launched in Worsening Sea Conditions

A rescue operation was launched for a person in the water in worsening sea conditions. RNLI Eastbourne was alerted to a person in the sea east of Eastbourne Pier at 1.59pm yesterday, November 3.

The 'Esme Anderson' lifeboat was launched into worsening sea conditions and force 6 winds from Sovereign Harbour. Police and HM Coastguard found the person in the water near the beach and rescued them.

They were passed into the care of the ambulance service. South East Coast Ambulance Service has been contacted for further information.
