Hellen Obiri Regains New York City Marathon Title
Hellen Obiri won the TCS New York City Marathon, taking almost three minutes off the course record with a time of 2:19:51.
She was joined on the podium by compatriots Sharon Lokedi (2:20:07) and Sheila Chepkirui (2:20:24), both finishing inside the previous course record of 2:22:31.
The men's race was won by Benson Kipruto with a time of 2:08:09, just 16 hundredths of a second ahead of Alexander Mutiso.
Hellen Obiri's victory was a decisive one.
