Keep Britain Working: 7% of UK GDP lost per year due to ill-health
The Keep Britain Working Review has been published, recommending collaboration between government, employers and the private sector to improve workplace wellbeing.
A report found that one in five working-age people in the UK are out of work and not looking for work, with 800,000 more people out of work now than in 2019 due to health problems.
An additional 600,000 people are expected to be out of work by 2030 unless action is taken, impacting individuals, employers and the state.
The report showed that 7% of UK GDP is lost per year due to ill-health.
