Six Flags America in Maryland, a beloved amusement park, has closed its doors permanently.
The park's parent company, which operates over 40 amusement parks across North America, announced the closure in May.
"We will feel its loss," said Lise Bruneau, a Washington, D.C. resident. "I feel it already."
For many, including Bruneau, the park holds cherished memories, having visited for 16 years and being the place where her son learned to swim.
The park, along with its water park Hurricane Harbor, drew a crowd of all ages on its final day, as visitors came to reminisce and say goodbye.
