The EU's centrists have enjoyed one of their best days in years with the outcome of Wednesday's election in the Netherlands.

Geert Wilders, the far-right populist who previously suggested leaving the EU, lost nearly a third of his voters after 11 chaotic months for his Party for Freedom (PVV) in coalition.

Meanwhile, pro-European liberal Rob Jetten surged in the final days of the campaign and stands a good chance of becoming prime minister at 38, making him the youngest person to hold the office since World War II and the first openly gay candidate to do so.

But here’s why the Brussels establishment shouldn’t celebrate too hard just yet.
