Bantam River Riders Defeat Hague in Historic Matchup
The Bantam River Riders played their last game of the season at Max Clunie Field on Sunday, defeating the Hague Junior Panthers 27-8.
The River Riders came back from an 8-0 deficit at half-time to secure the victory in the first-ever matchup between the two communities.
“We typically in the fall play 12 –a-side in the KFL (Kinsmen Football League), but this year we didn’t have the people for that, so this was our first fall playing six -a-side,”
said Ashley Viklund, coach of the Bantam River Riders, explaining the unusual circumstances that led to the matchup.
