Cardinal McElroy's Message at White Mass
On October 26, Cardinal Robert W. McElroy celebrated the 16th annual White Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Potomac, Maryland.
The liturgy, sponsored by the archdiocese's Office of Deaf and Disability Ministries, affirmed the dignity of every person and the shared call to holiness received at Baptism.
The White Mass takes its name from the color of the baptismal garment, symbolizing Christian dignity, new life in Christ, and being cleansed from sin.
Cardinal McElroy urged people to 'see the face of God' in everyone.
The event brought together families, clergy, and parishioners, with some participants signing responses in American Sign Language.
