Four Somerset County football teams concluded their regular season. Conemaugh Township secured a 48-8 Heritage Conference victory over Conemaugh Valley, scoring 34 points in the first half.
The win, combined with Windber's 55-28 loss to Juniata Valley, earned Conemaugh Township the No. 2 seed in the District 5-1A playoffs. They will host Windber in the semifinals.
"We finished the last two weeks of the regular season strong and are looking forward to hosting the first round of the playoffs," said Conemaugh Township coach Brandon Studer. "We need to stay focused and keep working to improve every day. Everyone's records go back to 0-0 next week."
Key players included senior running back Brennan Lohr, who rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown, and also had a 75-yard punt return for a score. Greyson Studer tossed a touchdown pass to D.J. Liam Richardson notched two rushing touchdowns, while Cohen Stahl and Bryce Conn each added a rushing score.
