Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz in Talks for New 'Mummy' Movie
Universal Pictures is developing a new Mummy movie with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz reportedly in discussions to reprise their iconic roles from the popular ’90s and early 2000s franchise. Sources confirmed the project to Deadline.

Directing duties are set to be handled by Radio Silence's Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The screenplay is written by David Coggeshall, known for The Family Plan and The Deliverance. Sean Daniel, a longtime producer for the franchise, will produce alongside William Sherak, James Vanderbilt, and Paul Neinstein of Project X Entertainment.

Franchise Background and Collaborations
This collaboration reunites Radio Silence and Project X following their recent work rebooting the Scream franchise, although Radio Silence did not direct the upcoming Scream 7. Project X has also worked with Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett on the horror sequel Ready or Not: Here I Come for Searchlight Pictures.
