Toronto Powers Up 500 EV Chargers in Push for Electric Future

The Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) and Toronto Hydro have achieved a major milestone in the city’s journey toward electric mobility by activating the 500th public electric vehicle (EV) charging station within Canada’s largest municipally owned network.

The new charger, installed at Green P Carpark 504 on Willingdon Blvd., expands EV charging accessibility across Toronto. Since 2020, Toronto Hydro and the TPA have collaborated to grow the city’s charging infrastructure. Toronto Hydro initially developed the network and later transferred ownership to the TPA in 2023.

“Reaching 500 energized EV charging stations is a testament to what strong partnerships can achieve,” said Jana Mosley, President & CEO of Toronto Hydro.
“Our mission is clear: to create a seamless mobility experience that delivers on Choice, Ease, and Speed for our customers,” stated Scott Collier, President of the Toronto Parking Authority.

The partnership between Toronto Hydro and the TPA underscores the city’s determination to accelerate EV adoption by building reliable infrastructure that supports sustainable transportation.
