Kevin Durant Predicts Cooper Flagg Will Become ‘One of the Best All-Time’

Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant has watched rookie sensation Cooper Flagg closely and made a striking prediction: the young Mavericks player is destined for greatness.

Dallas has struggled early in the season, holding a 2-5 record after the Rockets defeated them 110-102 on Monday night. Despite the team's injury problems, Durant is impressed with Flagg's performance and potential.

“I think that he’s going to be a hell of a player. I think that he’s going to be such a nightmare… that… he’ll be considered one of the best of all time,” Durant told DallasHoopsJournal.com.

At just 18 years old, the 6’9” forward has already shown signs of being an elite two-way player. Coach Jason Kidd has placed Flagg in the point guard role, and he averages 13.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3 assists per game.

Though the stats are modest for now, Durant feels they don’t capture Flagg’s full impact. He explained the challenges Flagg faces in adapting from college to the NBA:

“You’re going from in college playing four and five to playing point guard, two guard. That’s going to be an adjustment period for everybody. I hate to inject myself into his [situation], but I came in college playing four, five. I came to the league playing a two.”

Durant's confidence highlights Flagg’s rapid growth as a versatile and promising talent in the league.

Author’s summary: Kevin Durant praises young Cooper Flagg’s unique versatility and predicts he will evolve into one of the greatest players of all time despite his early career adjustment challenges.
