Canon has unveiled the EOS R6 Mark III, a 32.5-megapixel full-frame mirrorless camera designed for hybrid shooters who balance still photography and video production.
The camera features a fresh 32.5 MP Canon CMOS sensor combined with the DIGIC X processor. It delivers faster burst shooting, reaching up to 40 fps with the electronic shutter, along with a pre-capture buffer that allows the camera to record 20 frames before the actual shutter release. Mechanical and first-curtain modes reach up to 12 fps. Shutter durability is tested for 500,000 cycles.
On the video front, the EOS R6 Mark III supports recording up to 7K/59.94p in raw light and includes a 7K/30p open-gate mode to maximize vertical resolution and provide broader options in post-production. It also enables 4K recording at up to 119.9p for slow-motion sequences.
Canon has expanded the video and production flexibility by adding proxy and sub-recording to a secondary card, waveform monitoring via the display, and improved connectivity options.
Canon positions the EOS R6 Mark III as “a bridge between enthusiast and professional use,” citing higher resolution, improved subject detection, and flexible recording formats suitable for post-production workflows.
The R6 Mark III continues the versatile tradition of the 6-series bodies while pushing further into advanced creative applications.
