The Golden State Warriors, missing superstar Stephen Curry, saw rookie Will Richard rise to the occasion despite a narrow 121-116 defeat to the Sacramento Kings at the Golden 1 Center on Wednesday night.
Will Richard earned his first career start for the Warriors and made a strong impact. He posted 30 points, shooting 10 for 15 (66.7%) overall and 5 for 8 (62.5%) from beyond the arc. Additionally, he grabbed seven rebounds, dished out three assists, and played 35 minutes.
“Will was amazing. From the beginning of camp, he’s shown he’s an NBA player and the experience, the poise. He doesn’t turn it (the ball) over. He can handle the ball under pressure. This guy’s a hell of a player.”
Will Richard’s strong play underlines his potential to be a key contributor for the Warriors moving forward.
