During a conversation on the podcast Therapuss with Jake Shane, actress and singer Hilary Duff confessed she doesn’t remember recording one of her most famous tracks, “What Dreams Are Made Of,” from The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003).

Shane, 26, shared that he recently rewatched the film and was struck by the song’s emotional quality, joking about being “really high but it was fantastic.” He asked Duff if she ever thought, “Holy s---, this song is amazing.”

“No... very much, no. Absolutely not,” said Duff. “I don’t even remember recording that song.”

The How I Met Your Father star explained that, despite not remembering the recording session, she now appreciates the song and the time spent filming the movie.

“But I will say now I love it. And when I was filming the movie, I loved it. It was just — it was a weird time.”

Duff, who was only 14 at the time, clarified that the song belonged to her character rather than her personal discography.

“It wasn’t technically my song. It was a Lizzie McGuire song.”
