South Devon MP Caroline Voaden continues to push for a banking hub in Totnes, recently questioning a Treasury Minister in Parliament.
She asked if new regulations are needed to help rural areas retain face-to-face banking services, noting the Financial Conduct Authority only protects access to cash.
Ms Voaden highlighted that Lloyds Banking Group will prevent customers from cashing cheques at Post Offices from January next year.
