Lucy Charles-Barclay dominated the swim, finishing 90 seconds ahead of Taylor Knibb and Chelsea Sodaro.

Her other big rivals trailed by six minutes. Charles-Barclay is bidding to repeat her 2023 victory.

She set a new overall course record in Hawaii, finally winning after four successive second places.

The Briton quickly carved out a big advantage after the start, opting for the middle of the field.

Within the first 200 metres of the 3.8km swim, she had already put distance between herself and the rest.
