Call to End Abuse of Bins in Twin Towns

A call has been made in Ballybofey and Stranorlar to stop dumping household and vehicle waste in public litter bins.

The local chamber of commerce has revealed that the misuse of bins is creating hazards for council workers.

There are 40 public litter bins and 7 dog waste bins across the Twin Towns.
Some bins are being abused with items such as umbrellas and household rubbish being dumped.

These bins are designed for public litter, not vehicle or household waste.

We want our public realm to be safe and clean, not hazardous for council workers who maintain and empty the bins three times per week.

Residents are urged to be mindful of what they put in litter bins, including not putting umbrellas in them.
