Snowmaking operations signal the countdown to ski season

Snowmaking Operations Begin

Snowmaking operations have started at A-Basin, Keystone, and Loveland, signaling the countdown to ski season.

Crews at Colorado's ski resorts work through the night to make snow, with a mission to create the perfect conditions for skiing and snowboarding.

Our snowmakers are people who are passionate about the ski and snowboard community... They'll go to South America, and they'll hike fourteeners to ski every month of the year.

According to Keystone Resort communication manager Sarah McClear, the first round of snowmaking took place from Sunday night into Monday morning, with snowmakers using digital monitors to measure wet-bulb temperature.

Author's summary: Ski season is near as snowmaking begins.
