Firefighters Battle Derelict Building Fire in Newquay
A fire broke out at a derelict building in Newquay at around 3:18am, with firefighters still tackling the blaze.
The A3058 Narrowcliff remains closed in both directions from Lusty Glaze Road to Ulalia Road due to the ongoing incident.
- The fire is reportedly at the Narrowcliff Hotel, which was destroyed in a previous blaze in July.
- A murder investigation was launched after a man in his 30s was found deceased at the scene.
"The body of a man in his 30s was found deceased in the property. His next of kin have been informed. The cause of the fire is believed to be suspicious, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the surrounding circumstances."
At 6:25am, Cornwall Fire & Rescue reported: "Good progress is being made as firefighters work to extinguish the fire."
