Delays in the Postal Service are exacerbating the challenges faced by the newspaper industry. Subscribers have reported delays of up to two months in receiving their newspapers.
Jill Friesz, owner of GS Publishing, a company that operates seven weekly newspapers in North Dakota, has firsthand experience with the issue. A frustrated subscriber, tired of excuses, visited her office, expressing his disappointment and considering cancelling his subscription.
“I have so many frustrated people that call and just say, ‘Well, there’s no point in me getting the newspaper because it never gets delivered to me,’”
Friesz said, highlighting the severity of the problem. The delays are taking a toll on the already struggling newspaper business.
