Greenwood's Eli Wade led local golfers at the KHSAA Boys' State Golf Championship, finishing 1-over par to tie for fifth overall.
The Gators placed seventh as a team, while ACS's Barton Rutledge and Bowling Green's Rowdy Harris each finished 9-over, tying for 25th.
"I was working on hitting my driver," Wade said. "I hit it really bad the first day, but the second day I hit it pretty good hit a lot of fairways. I also learned how to putt miraculously, so that was pretty good."
Wade credits his teammates for helping the Gators stay competitive all season.
