Magic Mountain Ski Area is investing in snowmaking upgrades, which will enable the area to be ready for skiing and boarding sooner.
According to Geoff Hatheway, president of Magic Mountain, many ski areas in New England have outdated snowmaking infrastructure, with "plenty of old snowmaking pipe".
"We are replacing a key section of our lower mountain loop that had become 'Swiss cheese,' causing a lot of inefficiencies and blow outs,"
Hatheway explained that over 1,200 feet of new pipe will be installed from the midway of Black Line to the top of Show Off, improving the lower snowmaking loop's production for years to come.
