On November 27, Tashkent held the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor (TCTC) and Connectivity Investors Forum. This event gathered representatives from the European Union alongside officials and stakeholders from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
The forum aimed to promote regional connectivity enhancements by supporting infrastructure projects within the Trans-Caspian corridor. This corridor plays a critical role in boosting trade links between Europe and Asia by linking Central Asian countries to the Caspian Sea and beyond.
Representatives emphasized the EU’s commitment to fostering economic integration and mobility in Central Asia. The initiative focuses on improving transport infrastructure and facilitating smoother logistics flows, which would enhance trade efficiency and regional cooperation.
“The Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor is strategically vital for strengthening the ties between Central Asia and the European Union,” stated an EU spokesperson at the forum.
Investments and collaborative efforts through the TCTC are expected to accelerate economic development in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. Improved infrastructure is anticipated to open new markets, reduce transportation costs, and increase competitiveness in global trade.
