Stanford Abundance and the Society for International Affairs facilitated a speaker session with author and Hoover fellow Dan Wang, which was well-attended by students of all majors.
During the session, Stanford Abundance co-president Victoria Ren '26 asked the audience,
“Who here wants to own a house in their lifetime?”Almost everyone raised their hands.
The session, titled "America's Lawyers vs. China's Engineers," provided new insights into cultural work ethics and the abundance movement, highlighting how these ethics impact policy and people's lives.
Stanford Abundance co-president Shreya Mehta '26 noted,
"Not a ton of people at Stanford are necessarily thinking, I want to build something that is going to help my society,"emphasizing the importance of considering the broader impact of one's work.
