Bollywood actress Fatima Sana Shaikh recently disclosed her experience with two serious and often misunderstood medical conditions: epilepsy and bulimia. She shared how these health challenges have affected her life and work.
“I have epilepsy. I have bulimia too. It’s a tough fight, but it’s mine,” Fatima said candidly.
Fatima revealed that she even suffered a seizure while filming, highlighting the unpredictable nature of epilepsy and the challenges it brings, especially in a demanding profession like acting.
“One time on set, I had a seizure. That moment was terrifying but also made me realize the importance of awareness around this condition.”
In addition to epilepsy, Fatima has struggled with bulimia, an eating disorder marked by cycles of bingeing and purging. She emphasized the difficulty of managing mental health along with her physical condition.
“Bulimia is something that affects your mind and body. It’s a silent battle that many don’t see.”
Her openness aims to break stigma and encourage others facing similar struggles to seek support and speak openly.
