The Trump administration has introduced a new system, called FIFA Pass, designed to expedite entry for international fans attending the 2026 World Cup in the United States. This initiative allows fans who have purchased official FIFA match tickets to receive prioritized visa interview appointments, simplifying their entry process while maintaining strict immigration policies.
President Donald Trump praised the effort, highlighting collaboration between government agencies to reduce global visa wait times. He stated:
"Secretary Rubio's team at the State Department has worked tirelessly with the Department of Homeland Security to ensure that soccer fans from all around the world are properly vetted and able to come to the United States next summer easily."
Trump also noted that visa processing times, which previously could reach up to a year, have been shortened. Currently, over 80% of applicants now wait 60 days or less, encouraging fans to apply early.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino welcomed the new system, estimating that the tournament will attract between 6 and 7 million ticketed fans and up to 10 million visitors overall. He emphasized that the FIFA Pass is designed to allow legitimate fans to travel under optimal conditions.
The "FIFA Pass" aims to streamline visa processes for World Cup attendees, ensuring easier access for millions of fans while preserving immigration standards, as endorsed by U.S. authorities and FIFA representatives.
