Fantasy anime The Cat and the Dragon (Neko to Ryu) will debut in July 2026. A teaser trailer and a visual have already been released, giving fans a first look at the upcoming series.

Source Material
The Cat and the Dragon is based on a light novel series written by Amara and illustrated by Mai Okuma. The novels are published under the Takarajimasha Bunko label, which began releasing the series in 2017. The ninth volume is scheduled for release on November 26, 2025 (JST).
The original story began as a short story on Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2013, and it also inspired a manga adaptation by Izumi Sasaki.
