"This will be the coldest air of the season so far by a significant margin," said Fox Weather meteorologist Ian Oliver.
"A very impressive blast of cold air is expected to dive into the Southeast early next week," said Alex DaSilva, an AccuWeather meteorologist. "This is all associated with a very strong cold front crossing the Southeast. It will likely be the most significant cold period of the fall as colder air moves south from central and northern Canada."
The National Weather Service in Mobile confirms that a freeze is becoming increasingly likely early next week across the Panhandle.
Temperatures across the eastern half of the nation, including South Florida, are expected to be 8-16 degrees below historical averages. The coldest period in Florida is forecast for the night of Monday, November 10, into Tuesday morning.
