Cebu Pacific (CEB), the Philippines’ largest airline, hosted a two-day pop-up event at Shibuya 109 on November 8 and 9, highlighting the hospitality and vibrant spirit of Filipino culture for Japanese visitors.
“Japan is a key market for us, and we continue to see strong growth in travel between our countries,” said Xander Lao, CEB President and Chief Commercial Officer, during a press conference in Tokyo.
Lao added that the initiative aims to inspire more Japanese tourists to visit the Philippines and enjoy its varied destinations, while offering affordable and enjoyable travel options through Cebu Pacific.
According to CEB spokesperson Carmina Romero, this activation forms part of the airline’s inbound tourism campaign, “Fly to Your Happy Philippines,” designed to attract Japanese travelers to the country’s famous islands and natural landmarks.
Cebu Pacific operates direct connections from Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka (Kansai), Sapporo, and Tokyo (Narita) to Cebu, Clark, and Manila, making it the largest Philippine airline serving Japan.
Through a lively pop-up in Tokyo, Cebu Pacific promotes Filipino culture and tourism, aiming to draw more Japanese visitors to explore the Philippines’ scenic destinations.
