Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific has taken delivery of its first Airbus A320neo aircraft, arriving in time for the upcoming holiday travel season. The new 180-seat plane equipped with a new engine option came from Airbus’ Toulouse, France facility over the weekend.
This A320neo marks Cebu Pacific’s first of this model and their fourth aircraft acquisition in 2025, led by the Gokongwei group. Earlier this year, the airline also received its third of four A330neo wide-body jets, each capable of carrying 459 passengers.
Contrary to their capacity for long-haul routes, the A330neos were deployed on domestic flights within the Philippines, specifically connecting Iloilo and Palawan.
“This latest delivery helps ensure we have enough capacity to serve passengers looking to fly home or discover new destinations this holiday season,” said Xander Lao, president and chief commercial officer of Cebu Pacific.
“We’re committed to making travel more accessible and convenient, especially during this time of year when more Filipinos take to the skies,” Lao added.
The new wider jet will service 16 flights between Manila and Bohol, improving the carrier’s ability to handle holiday travel demand.
Summary: Cebu Pacific’s introduction of the A320neo enhances its holiday season capacity with fuel-efficient technology, supporting increased domestic and regional travel in the Philippines.
