The United States has announced an immediate assistance package worth $1 million, equivalent to over ₱58 million, to help victims of Typhoon Kalmaegi (locally known as Tino), a series of successive storms, and the recent Cebu earthquake.
This announcement was made through a statement released by the U.S. Department of State on November 7, 2025. The aid aims to provide life-saving support, including emergency shelter, logistics assistance, and access to clean water and proper sanitation for the most affected communities in the Philippines.
The U.S. government acknowledged that many of these regions continue to suffer from the impact of consecutive natural disasters. Officials stressed that the swift response underscores the enduring partnership between the United States and the Philippines, rooted in shared history and mutual respect.
“The United States and the Philippines are not only ironclad allies; we are friends and partners bound by a shared history, common values, and a steadfast commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific,” the statement read.
The support reflects Washington’s ongoing commitment to supplement Philippine-led disaster response operations and strengthen resilience within disaster-prone areas.
Washington’s $1 million relief package highlights the strong, long-standing U.S.-Philippines partnership and their shared dedication to regional stability and humanitarian support.
