A team from Scania’s company-owned Dandenong Branch has claimed victory in this year’s Australian National Top Team competition for the second consecutive year. They will travel to Bangkok in early 2026 to compete in the Asian Regional finals, aiming to earn one of two spots available for the World Finals in Sweden.
Seven teams from Scania’s Australian company-owned branches participated in the National Finals, following a knockout round involving an additional eight teams nationwide.
“Top Team is a global Scania initiative that celebrates and develops the professionalism of our service teams, strengthening technical capability, efficiency, and collaboration within our workshops,” said Stefan Weber, Director of Aftersales at Scania Australia.
The event took place at Scania’s Campbellfield head office in late October.
Under the leadership of team captain Chris Chilver, Dandenong secured the top place for the second consecutive time. Chris described this year’s National Finals as the toughest among the four events he has competed in over his career.
“We had good team spirit; we weren’t put off if we had a low score from one of the stations when we went to the next one. It was evident that it was going to be a tough event, so we just buckled down. We allocated each team member to the tasks that best used their strengths. I think we worked quite well together,” Chris explained.
The Dandenong team’s success was attributed to strong collaboration and strategic task allocation based on individual strengths, enabling them to remain focused and resilient throughout the competition.
Author’s summary: The Dandenong team’s consecutive national victory highlights their strong teamwork and skill, as they prepare to compete in the regional finals aiming for the world stage.
