Anthony Edwards led a balanced effort with 26 points as the Minnesota Timberwolves secured a convincing victory over the Sacramento Kings in Sacramento, marking their sixth straight win on the road there.
The Wolves have consistently excelled in California’s capital, performing better away from home against the Kings. Seven players scored in double figures in the 144-117 triumph on Sunday night.
Minnesota (6-4) achieved their fourth victory in five contests, winning handily for the second consecutive game. Although not as dominant as their 40-point win over Utah on Friday, the Timberwolves maintained control throughout, trailing only briefly early on.
“Another complete game both ends of the floor,” said Wolves coach Chris Finch. “I thought we were really sharp, which is what we needed to be. Built on the performances of the other day, and it continued into today. Really, really pleased with how we’re starting games defensively.”
This was Edwards’ third game back after missing four contests with a hamstring injury. He shot 7-for-16 overall, hit 5 of 11 three-pointers, and converted 7 of 8 free throws. Edwards scored 37 points in Friday’s win over the Jazz and has made 12 of 23 shots from beyond the arc over his last two games.
