David Adelman used a 10-man rotation during the Denver Nuggets’ first back-to-back games of the season, as Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon sat out. Despite missing two key players, Denver maintained impressive form and precision.
On Saturday, the Nuggets defeated the short-handed Indiana Pacers 117–100, closing a flawless four-game home stand and improving to 7–2 overall. Both Murray and Gordon were sidelined, yet the team showed depth and balance.
Murray has been managing intermittent calf tightness for the past week, while Gordon was listed with left hamstring management. Their absences were largely precautionary, given the team’s tight schedule and minimal recovery time.
“If you feel something that you know could turn into something worse, I think there is a little bit of apprehension,” David Adelman said about Gordon’s appearance on the injury list. “Aaron’s a guy we have to protect … there just aren’t many people that big who can jump that high and explode like that.”
Even without two core players, Denver showcased its depth and execution, signaling a confident rhythm early in the season and a sustainable blueprint for future back-to-backs.
