Washington fought back, taking its first lead since the opening quarter when Alex Sarr’s putback made it 72–71 with 5:07 left in the third. Whitmore scored 11 in that period, giving the Wizards an 86–82 advantage entering the fourth, but Dallas regained control late to clinch the win.
