Mail shipments from Bermuda to Canada are scheduled to restart next week despite the ongoing rotating strike at Canada Post.
A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Post Office (BPO) said that although mail shipments will resume on Monday, delivery delays might still happen due to continued disruptions.
“The BPO appreciates the public’s patience and co-operation during this time.”
Mail delivery services to Canada were paused in late September following a nationwide strike by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers. The union later replaced the national strike with a rotating strike, enabling limited mail delivery to resume.
The Bermuda Post Office also announced that all local post offices will close at noon tomorrow for a staff event.
“The BPO apologises for any inconvenience this early closure may cause.”
