Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Alex Vesia did not participate in the 2025 World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays. He took a leave of absence due to a "personal matter" involving his family.
“It is with a heavy heart that we share that Alex Vesia is away from the team as he and his wife, Kayla, navigate a deeply personal family matter. The entire Dodgers organization is sending our thoughts to the Vesia family, and we will provide an update at a later date.”
Even though the Blue Jays did not win the series, they showed respect by wearing Alex’s number, 51, on their caps during Game 6.
