Many celebrities achieved great success without finishing high school, proving that formal education is not the only path to accomplishment.
Jeremy Allen White, star of The Bear, recently shared a heartfelt moment with an old teacher during the NYC premiere of his film Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. Although he never graduated from the Professional Performing Arts School due to irregular attendance, his former teacher surprised him with his high school diploma at the event.
“I wasn’t a good student because I didn’t go to school enough,” White said on the October 23 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark. “And I was like, ‘Ah, you don’t have to do this, this is crazy, what are you giving me a gift for?’ And I open it up, and it is my high school diploma. So… at 34 years old, I graduated high school!”
Despite winning two Oscars, Nicole Kidman expressed regret about leaving school early. She openly described herself as a high school dropout but fondly recalled some of her inspiring teachers.
“I’m a high school dropout, which I’m not proud to say,” Kidman shared on 60 Minutes. “I had some teachers that I still think of fondly and were amazing to me.”
By age 15, she had her sights set on becoming an actress and moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career.
These stories highlight that success can come through various routes, as determination and passion often outweigh traditional educational paths.
