Saoirse Ronan has been cast as Linda (Eastman) McCartney in the highly anticipated project The Beatles - A Four-Film Cinematic Event. Born in New York and raised in Co Carlow, Ronan will portray the celebrated photographer Linda Eastman McCartney.
"Linda Eastman (Saoirse Ronan) was a celebrated photographer when she met Paul McCartney in 1967. There was an instant attraction and McCartney later said, 'The first time I saw her, I just knew.’"
Sony Pictures confirmed Ronan's role alongside Paul Mescal, who will play Paul McCartney. Ronan and Mescal, both Academy Award nominees, previously co-starred in the sci-fi thriller Foe and have become close friends.
Joining them is another young Irish Academy Award nominee, Barry Keoghan, cast as Ringo Starr. Additional casting announcements include Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen (Cox) Starkey, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, and Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd.
