Comstock Metals Receives Industrial-Scale Solar Panel Processing Determination

May 5, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Comstock Inc. (NYSE: LODE) and its subsidiary Comstock Metals LLC, a leader in responsible recycling of end-of-life solar panels with a certified zero-landfill solution in North America, announced the receipt of a written determination of eligibility from the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection – Bureau of Sustainable Materials Management (NDEP-BSMM).

The determination, subject to standard compliance conditions and public notice periods, authorizes Comstock Metals to process waste solar panels and photovoltaics at its large-scale materials recovery facility in Silver Springs, Nevada.

“This timely approval keeps our scale-up plans for commissioning our first industrial-scale facility in Silver Springs, NV, right on schedule,” Comstock stated.

The company expects a similar approval for its Air Quality Control permit within the next few weeks. Once finalized, both permits will cover all required regulatory authorizations for commissioning the facility, which is engineered to process more than three million panels per year — equivalent to up to 100,000 tons of waste materials annually.
