Slovenian volleyball star Tine Urnaut has taken on a significant new role as the ambassador of the national humanitarian initiative Botrstvo v sportu. He follows in the footsteps of distinguished Slovenian and international sports figures such as Thomas Bach, Aleksander Ceferin, Tina Maze, Primoz Roglic, Goran Dragic, and Janja Garnbret.
The official ceremony introducing Urnaut as the new ambassador took place at a grand gala event held at the Grand Hotel Union in Ljubljana. The event was organized by the Olympic Committee of Slovenia together with the Anita Ogulin Charity Association and the Slovenian Friends of Youth Association.
The event brought together the values of sport, solidarity, and social responsibility, highlighting the importance of supporting young athletes in need.
Botrstvo v sportu is a unique Slovenian humanitarian program that provides financial support for young athletes and para-athletes between the ages of 14 and 23, occasionally extending help to younger participants as well. The program assists them through scholarships and special funds, enabling them to pursue their athletic ambitions despite financial challenges.
Since 2020, the project has supported over 500 young sports talents, giving them better access to training opportunities and helping them follow their sporting dreams.
Tine Urnaut joins a line of celebrated athletes as ambassador of the Slovenian charity project Botrstvo v sportu, promoting youth sports and social support through solidarity and shared values.
