Laura Vanderheiden-Zahner Joins Family Medicine

Stormont Vail Health welcomed Laura Vanderheiden-Zahner to the Family Medicine team at Cotton O’Neil North Clinic, located at 4505 NW Fielding Road in Topeka. She offers comprehensive primary care to patients across all age groups.

Her approach emphasizes compassion and building long-term relationships. Vanderheiden-Zahner said,

Compassion is at the heart of everything, especially in family medicine. Building real connections and truly caring for patients is what matters most.

She supports team-based care and works closely with other providers to improve coordination between primary and specialty services and overall patient care.

Her passion for medicine was inspired by her grandmothers: one who endured polio and another who was the first nurse in their family.

Vanderheiden-Zahner earned her medical degree from The University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita and completed her family medicine residency at Via Christi in Wichita.
