'The Voice' Recap: The Knockouts Continue & First-Ever Mic Drop Is Used

'The Voice' Recap: Knockouts and First Ever Mic Drop

Michael Bublé introduced the first Mic Drop as coaches continued trimming their teams in Season 28 of The Voice. The Knockout Rounds featured direct battles, with coaches forced to eliminate one artist from their team after each head-to-head performance.

Coaches Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Bublé had no Saves or Steals this round, making their decisions final. However, each coach had one Mic Drop to award, which secures that artist a chance to perform at the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day. Viewers will vote for their favorite Mic Drop pick after all four are chosen.

Team Snoop’s Knockout Performances

First up were Toni Lorene and Natalia Albertini, both from Team Snoop. Natalia performed “I Wish” by Stevie Wonder, while Toni sang “Lady Marmalade.”

“Natalia, your performance was spectacular, you’re gorgeous, I love your outfit. I guess if I had to pick one, I think I’d go with Natalia.” — Reba McEntire

Niall Horan called Toni a “machine” and said, “The stuff you can do with your voice… there’s something special about you.” Both he and Michael Bublé leaned towards choosing Toni.

“I am a proud uncle,” Snoop Dogg expressed warmly.
