Background and Performance

Known as “The Thiccer Kicker,” Mevis has successfully transitioned from spring football back to the NFL. With Birmingham, he delivered an impressive season, converting 20 of 21 field goal attempts as the Stallions captured the USFL Conference title with a 7–3 record.

He showcased notable long-range accuracy, going 5-for-6 from beyond 50 yards, missing only a 63-yard attempt. Mevis also averaged 64.9 yards on kickoffs, reinforcing his value as a specialist.

"Mevis was on fire this year – including a strong 5-6 performance from 50+ yards out."

Journey to the NFL

Following the UFL season, Mevis joined the New York Jets, competing with veteran Nick Folk for the starting kicker position. Although narrowly edged out by Folk, Mevis joined the Jets’ practice squad before being released a few weeks later. His steady performances and strong leg ultimately earned him another NFL opportunity with the Rams.

"Former @USFLStallions standout kicker Harrison Mevis is 3/3 on the night with the #Jets. He's hit from 22, 27, and 39 yards out."
