Netflix Releases First Five Minutes of Stranger Things Season 5

Netflix has offered fans an early glimpse into the fifth and final season of Stranger Things by releasing its opening five minutes. The preview reconnects viewers with familiar faces and revisits a key moment tied to the show's origins.

Return to the Upside Down

The new season opens on November 12, 1983 — six days after Will Byers vanished. A digitally de-aged Noah Schnapp portrays 12-year-old Will trapped inside the Upside Down’s version of Castle Byers. Terrified and disoriented, he tries to steady himself by quietly singing a song introduced to him by his brother Jonathan in the first episode.

The Encounter with Danger

A sudden attack from a demogorgon disrupts the moment. Will fires a hunting rifle to defend himself and scrambles up a tree to escape. The creature, however, pursues him, dragging him down and ultimately transporting him through the eerie reflection of Hawkins — into the lair of Vecna.

“You and I, we are going to do such beautiful things together, William,” said Vecna to the frightened boy.
