Wigan Girl to Star Alongside Harry Potter Legend

Two young actors from Greater Manchester have secured roles in Channel 4’s upcoming drama Summerwater, premiering on Sunday, 16 November. Bertie Wallwork, 10, from Salford, and Emily Briscoe, 12, from Wigan, both study at Ross Adams’ Small Screen Talent acting academy, which operates in Manchester and Wigan.

Bertie, with TV credits including Ted Lasso (Apple TV) and Pushers (Channel 4), is steadily advancing his screen career. For Emily, this is her first professional television role. Ross Adams, Small Screen Talent’s principal and their mentor, believes this opportunity will lead to many more.

“Both Bertie and Emily are incredibly talented young performers with a natural instinct for screen work. To be cast in a Channel 4 drama of this calibre is a huge achievement, and to work alongside legends like Shirley Henderson and Dougray Scott at such a young age will be an experience they’ll never forget.”
