The 2025 Formula 1 season is approaching its final stages, but the competition remains intense. Max Verstappen’s recent dominance at the United States Grand Prix—where he won both the Sprint race and the main event—has put the four-time Drivers’ Champion firmly in title contention.
However, Lando Norris answered back impressively at the Mexico City Grand Prix, taking the lead in the Drivers’ standings. He now holds a narrow one-point advantage over his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri, with 357 points to Piastri’s 356. Verstappen is trailing by 36 points with a total of 321.
McLaren has already secured their second consecutive Constructors’ Championship. The fight behind them remains fierce, with Ferrari leading Mercedes by a single point—356 to 355. Red Bull is not far behind, closing the gap thanks to Verstappen’s strong results. Currently, Red Bull has 346 points, just ten shy of Ferrari and nine behind Mercedes.
This weekend's São Paulo Grand Prix marks the penultimate F1 Sprint event of the season. The qualifying session will establish the grid for tomorrow’s Sprint race, where the winner will earn eight points.
“Every point counts.”
The close standings across drivers and teams make the São Paulo Grand Prix Sprint crucial for the 2025 F1 championship battles.
