Jessica Simpson makes a striking comeback in Ryan Murphy’s drama All’s Fair, where she plays a character facing a tumultuous love story reminiscent of Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson.
In the series, Simpson’s character reveals a painful experience with her partner’s infidelity and pressure to undergo plastic surgery.
“We’ve been married almost three years. I knew he had had one affair - probably more. So when he had told me to get plastic surgery, I couldn’t say no,” Simpson, 45, says in the episode.
The storyline explores how the character’s botched surgery threatened her marriage. Flashbacks show her falling for a musician at a rock concert, developing a passionate relationship before he insists she get surgery after turning 40.
Following the failed procedure, Simpson’s character triumphs legally. She later exacts revenge by throwing sulfuric acid on her ex after discovering him with a younger woman.
Simpson previously shared the intense effort required for this role. In May, she told Entertainment Tonight she endured “eight hours of prosthetics” to transform for the part, describing it as a “very intense” experience.
