Netflix Announces Animated Spinoff "Stranger Things: Tales From '85"
Netflix is expanding the Stranger Things universe with a new animated series titled Stranger Things: Tales From '85, set to premiere in 2026. The show is placed chronologically between Seasons 2 and 3 of the original supernatural drama.
Plot and Setting
The story unfolds in Hawkins during a cold winter in 1985. Eleven, Mike, Max, Lucas, Dustin, Will, and Hopper work together to solve a paranormal mystery.
Creative Team and Style
The spinoff is created by showrunner Eric Robles along with Stranger Things co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer. Ross Duffer commented on the animation format:
“With animation there's really no limits. Erica and his team can just go wild, and they have.”
