Remembrance Sunday - We Will Remember Them

Remembrance Sunday - We Will Remember Them

They shall grow not old, as we who are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.

Message from Angus Provost Craig Fotheringham

This Remembrance Sunday (9 November), services and parades will be held across Angus to honour all those who gave their lives defending our freedoms. I encourage everyone who can to join their community at these events and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

If you cannot attend, please take a moment during the day to quietly reflect, alone or with loved ones, and remember the fallen.

Armistice Day - 11 November

Tuesday, 11 November, marks Armistice Day. At 11 a.m., whether at home or work, if possible, pause and observe two minutes of silence to honor the selflessness and bravery of our Armed Services.

“We must and will remember them.”

I also want to express gratitude to service men and women who continue to serve both near and far. As they protect us, we remain committed to supporting them.

Recent years have been marked by uncertain times, with the harsh realities of war conveyed through various media.

Author’s summary: Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day serve as vital moments for communities to honor fallen heroes and support active service members amid challenging times.
